sprinter2012 Personally I think the turbo one is flawed, in that a LOT of turbo'd cars had the turbos fitted/upgraded after they left the factory.

Can you imagine Stav's car trying to suck in 400hp+ of air through a K&N panel filter? I think it would rip the paper out of it's housing! LOL

Yes I can, the 5.7L engine in my car can be tuned for 550BHP N/A (if you have deep pockets) and can get there with a OEM paper filter - proven time and time again. Over 550 a different filter is better.

I meant with the standard IS200 filter, would that really still work?

Surely that must reduce performance at that level?

The issue there is there is no way of getting to that level in an IS200 without a tubby, so a pod filter is required.

OEM filters are not as bad as people believe - I thought they were rubbish just like the majority of people however videos like this and my own research suggest otherwise.

Sure there is evidence going the other way but for a road car OEM filters do the job without you the driver suffering. Unless you want a more pronounced induction noise.

Well I got my jan speed exhaust fitted today and it seems to be a lot smoother and noticeably torquier (if that's a word) but it doesn't sound any different to the the one that was in it.

So I've got a different plan. As its going to make sweet fa difference to performance, going for an induction kit for the IS and take a cold feed pipe from the bottom grill. A mod I bought for the Celica 5 years ago but never fitted.
