I would like to fit an oil cooler to my Lexus IS200 (2003). Does anyone have any advice/experience with fitting one? Any help much appreciated!:confused1:

I have one on mine. Although its a different engine.

You'll struggle on the standard engine as there is sweet fa room by the filter. But any will fit if you get the right thread adaptor.

Thanks for the reply. Any tips for finding the right thread adapter? Also, am I right in thinking I'll need to fit a smaller oil filter?

Out of interest why do you need one?
The OEM set up is just fine unless your going to introduce forced induction or long distance towing.

I believe the thread is 3/4 UNF if that helps but you don't need an oil cooler. As mentioned you've not got much space to get a sandwich plate in, and then you'll be running 2 oil coolers as the stock water jacket will still be there...

goonerden none been told it will help engine oil psi

whats wrong with your psi?
Have you changed oil grade?
if its too low i'd look at the pump, or a leak.

a way of upping the pressure is to put a small washer on the pump relief valve screw. but like its been said the standard engine is fine without one, so if youve a high or low pressure you need to find the problem.
