Just a thought more than anything else, but was just wondering if anyone had boxed in the rear (standard) speakers in the shelf, and if so did it have any improvement?

I like the stock system in the IS enough to not bother changing it, but was thinking that maybe boxing them in (the rear of the speakers are exposed fully in the boot) might tighten up the bass response from them, maybe even make them sound lower?

Not a viable option because the springs that operate the boot lid would be in the way of any box.

you could always delete the torsion bars and replace them with struts from a Honda Civic. Wink

Or remove them and fit sub wooer and release the bass.
