Mr Reman Best holiday I ever had was out that neck of the woods. A mate of mine grew up in Enkoping and when he moved to the UK the housing market over there was a mess so he rented out his home while it recovered. When the place was between tenants he asked if I wanted to go over there with him for a week. When we got there I found out that his house wasn't IN Enkoping, But about 7 or 8 miles south from there.

It was a bungalow in a Forrest, About 200 meters from the banks of a huge calm lake (Or possibly it was a fjord, Never did bother to ask. Blush)...... Centreparks looks like a low budget copy by comparison.:tongue_smilie:

The day's were spent sight seeing, And the nights were spent getting very, VERY drunk. It was such a nice place to go. Everyone was so friendly.

I'd recommend it to anyone as a holiday destination.

Anyway, I think I've hijacked this thread a bit too much already....... Sorry about that everyone.

Scotty B.
I'm sorry for hijacking the thread even more, but that is REALLY spooky. You're pulling my leg, right? I mentioned that it would be a long drive from Stockholm, because I live just 40 minutes from there.

If you go 8 miles south from Enköping you reach lake Mälaren and a bridge leading to the island Märsön, on which I live right now, about 100 meters from the banks.

You don't happen to remember the address, do you? If so, I probably know the person who lives there right now :tongue_smilie:

As I said, Most of my time there was spent either drunk, Or going through hangovers. :blushing:

I've got a feeling that from Enkoping it was down the 55 for a bit, Then we turned off to go down a smaller road (I vaguely remember a large farmers market type place somewhere down this one). From there we just turned down narrower and narrower roads till we got to his house.

If we drove past his house we almost immediately got to the lake. I remember it had (What I thought was) a strange little "L" shaped wooden jetty with both ends joining the land.

I've just spent about half an hour trying to find the farmers market or this jetty on Google maps without any luck. Sad

.........On a side note, Here's a little story to anyone who doesn't have Sweden on their dream holiday wish list, It helps show how amazingly friendly the Swedish are !

When I was there I went into a small pub out in the sticks. This place was pretty much someones living room that had been converted into a private bar for it's members (One way around all the tax laws that surround buying drink over there). I walked in, and in true British style I went up to the barman and in a clear voice asked "Do you speak English?".

There was about 15 to 20 people in there at the time, and while I was talking to the barman I could hear whispering going around the room behind me. It was slightly unnerving, But I thought it was just the usual mutterings of "Look at that, Some idiot foreigners just wandered in", And as everyone had been so friendly so far, I wasn't too worried.

After about 30 seconds the usual conversations had started back up and all was normal again........... But not quite.

For some reason most of the conversations had restarted in English !

A little later on (After being asked to join a group at their table) I asked why everyone was now chatting in English, The reply almost made me ashamed that I hadn't learnt more Swedish before going there......

They said "We all agreed that those of us who can should switch to English while your here, so you didn't feel left out" !!!!!!Confusedhock:. This sort of thoughtfulness wasn't an isolated event on my trip either.

Now, Can you imagine the reverse of that happening in a little country pub in the UK?

So, Before I stop this hijack (Again), I'd just like to say, Great people (So relaxed), Stockholm's a beautiful place, And I could't recomend going there enough.........

Now, There's a thought......... CLUB ROAD TRIP !!!!!!! :w00t:

How much do you think postage would be? Mainly interested in the high flow cat as mine is on the way out.

Was it stupidly loud with both the cat and manifold on? My car is loud enough as it is with a cat back system.

If its not any louder I might take both off you.

Cheers James
