Hi, I am wondering what comp ratio it is when using 1g-gte rod and piston in our engine.

someone knows?

cheers

1g-fe compression ratio is 10:1 I think, this will drop to 8.5:1 if you use the GTE rods and pistons.

I think the above is correct, Stav will probably be along to correct me if I'm wrong!

I must admit I'm not fully Upto speed on the workings of compression ratios. So no help at the mo. something I must read up on.

even same piston and rod, with different head, compression ratio is different.

as far as I can work out, it's the pistons that change the comp ratio. I'm planning on using the GTE rods with the FE piston in my FE engine so I get the stronger rod and maintain the higher compression ratio.

mate, i was think about the same way, plz tell me your result laterSmile
I am always wodering how strong the stock FE pistonis.

It would seem it's the rods that are the weak point of the FE engine, not the pistons. My results will be a long way off mate, I'm not in a position to do an engine rebuild yet (until at least September). I've only just finished getting the rest of the car ready for a speed upgrade.
