I've recently bought a pack of deadening to put in my doors, my question is, do I need to strip the plastic membrane off and put the deadening directly on the skin, or over the top of the plastic, if I'm taking the plastic out am I to worry about water ingress, the door skin is coated?

Yes it needs to go on the outer skin of the door, so the plastic needs to come off.

I really wouldn't worry about water in there or removing the palstic
