Any recommendation for a wireless mouse?

I bought this for my dad

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/132140

thinking it would do the job, in a sense it does the keyboard works fine, but the mouse doesnt with the distance

basically my dads uses it for his computer connected to the 40 inch tv.

at one corner is the tv other corner the sofa, and wants to be able to use on the sofa

the reciever for this has to be put as far as possible in front of the tv for it to work, so not ideal

Now im thinking the keyboard works fine so keep that and buy a decent wireless mouse

any recommendations?

With my limited experience with mice, I'd always personally go for Logitech as they generally have the best performance.

However, I think for living room range, you're best off getting a keyboard with an inbuilt trackpad as I think you'll always have range problems with a separate mouse (depending on the size of your living room).

And stick to the ones designed for media centre PCs as they're supposed to work in the living room, any cheapo set like the one in the link will be designed mainly to use on a desk, for which its range is probably fine.

sounds like logitech is the way, this one seems good at half price at the moment

http://www.comet.co.uk/shopcomet/product..._-position

i might buy it from somewhere local like comet, so i can always return it, if it doesnt work properly, the one in my original post linked, thought that would be good with the rechargable mouse, but its no good if it doesnt work !

Well i ended up buying that one from COmet for half price, i asked them first, if it doesnt work within range can i return and they reassured me i can.

Tried it works perfectly ! and perfectly on the sofa surface so no need for mats or anything !

The reciever is tiny, nano size so its ideal for laptops, i might actually buy one for my laptop now !

Thanks for the heads up on logitech top class stuff

Well I have one of those and I think it's more of a features thing than actual build quality - mine's a laser mouse (rather than optical), it's rechargeable so also has a charging stand, bluetooth so uses less power and has buttons all over it. But in terms of just being a mouse, I'm sure they're both quite similar.

I'm actually curious as to the range of my mouse now as well.........I went as far back as I can in the room (maybe 18ft), and it still works perfectly Smile
