Ok I tried disconnecting the battery, and then also disconnecting the grom unit and neither made any difference whatsoever. Pressing the load button, it flashes up with wait for a split second and then flicks back to the radio (or whatever source it was on)

However, when I connected it back up, I could hear the cd player whirring as it checks what's in each CD tray, same as when it was working fine which makes me think that the actual mechanism is still fine. Also the CD that was in there was playing fine until I ejected it.

So it appears the problem is purely with the loading, and it just doesn't want to do it. Shall I just leave it alone or could it be a simple fix worth taking to Lexus for? To be honest I don't use the CD player that much, but it just bothers me that it isn't working.........

might be a case of open it up and spray a little plastic runner oil( not sure what you call it) and then see if it's working, could be lots of fluff etc in there

I wouldn't bother mate, more so if you don't use CDs anyway, I ain't put a cd in mine since I had the grom! Lol i know what you mean about it not working and bugging you but seriously it's just not worth it, you'd probably pay an arm and a leg for them to look at it and there would be know gaurantee that you don't get the error message the next day!

I reckon Lexus will probably charge you a lot to fix it. I still think it's worth opening it up yourself, seeing if there's dust and fluff you can remove, and lubricating it as Jay said.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !
