Hi Thor,

I notice you're now offering bolt-on adaptor plates for the W58 and R154 boxes to mate up to the 1UZ-FE. There's a company in the states who have an adaptor plate that allows the V160/V161 boxes to mate up to the 1UZ. Do you have any plans to offer such a plate or am I better off just ordering the one from the US? I figure it probably isn't worth your while due to the rarity of the boxes but worth an ask.

Thanks!

All will become clear in the next few months Steve, but this thread isn't the place for it Smile

Mating the V16x to the 1UZ is actually quite a complex issue, the input shaft is 3/4" too long to mate up to the block, but even using an adaptor plate to get around that you're still talking custom flywheel territory (or the massive 800ft-lb quarter master clutch from the states which would be ridiculous). The other Toyota boxes available (R154 and W58) have removeable bellhousings, so an adaptor can be inserted between box and bellhousing, and if required the bellhousings can be swapped for auto ones. The V16x doesn't have this so you have to insert your adaptor between bellhousing and block instead. Then there are more complications with the release bearing too. Which is why I want Thor to do the complicated bit!
