my brothers ps3 60gb ps3 does this (he had one of the original ones with the backwards compatible gaming) and his is constantly on full fan. although doesnt seem to cause any problems, i took it apart for him (pretty easy to do) and blew it out with an air line. didnt seem to make any difference.

i would say this though, dont bother with clip on fans unless they SUCK, if they are the sort that BLOW then all they will do is turbocharge it full of dust and clog it all up.
