Marsdendean Electric is more expensive to run and the kit will be miles more expensive. The warm up kits are around 200 for 15m2 and will cost more to run and are not as reliable as the plastic system

The electric element systems are not expensive but are more expensive to run. I lived in Norway through a couple of winters and electric systems were the norm, but there's cheap hydro electric power available. Never had a problem with reliability though.

IS 200 Sport with a few mods, Standardish IS-F. The IS250 SE-L with a few mods has gone to a new home.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Ive also been looking at solar panels as a way to offset the extra eleccy cost of the underfloor heating.

as my personal feeling is gas will go up quicker than electric so it may work out better

How does using an air source heat pump compare cost wise to the traditional boiler route?

Only issue would be the colder average temps up north.

reidy I've drilled through an underfloor heating pipe

I thought I may do that so I took pics of the installations before they were covered to give me a reasonable idea of where the pipes and heating elements are.
