You may ask what is a tag?
When you open a thread look to the bottom of the thread were you can add tabs to what will make people look at that post.
With the web looking for information the tags get pulled up by the web spiders looking for certain words.
IE You may start your thread LEXUS IS200 AUTO WHAT TYRES ARE REQUIRED?
You may then add the words LEXUS is200 auto tyres and any other info you add to the thread such as tyre size make of tyre etc: etc:

This thread does have tags

When naming you thread think how a search engine may pick up your thread easier.
IE Toyota mr2 Twin entry turbo intercooler
Rather than just the word intercooler

Ok to show what a helpful bunch of people we have here, anyone that adds tags or good information post will be getting Reps more often.

However I can only add 5 tags...not sure whether this is a daily limit or maybe each person can only do 5 per thread?

07-08-2018, 07:47 AM #8Just something worth mentioning quickly aswell...because the tags are added to the whole thread, not just the original post. Anyone can add tags to any thread, even if its not your own. Which is one way of boosting up the 5 tag limit :thumbup1:

1. You can add up to 5 tags to threads you start yourself
2. You can add up to 2 tags on threads you did not start yourself
3. You do not get a new 'allowance' of tags each day, so choose your words carefully, think about combing words like 'Legana bumper' instead of writing 'Legana, bumper'
4. You can edit/remove tags you've added if you think of some better ones
5. Having added a vast amount of tags since this thread was put up, I've realised what an incredibly useful feature this is, as it means when people use the search function, the tags seem to be the primary search media for the words you enter. So over time this will make it a LOT easier for people to find old threads with all the useful information we add to the forum
