There was also a demonstration of an 800+bhp twin turbo V8 champ car running on methanol which was doing 53 second laps of the speedway circuit which was pretty cool, and my friends team did well in the Ginetta GT supercup scooping 3rd and 4th on a track they know they're not strong on.

Went to see the touring cars today! Always a good day out at Rockingham and while not specifically a Japanese event there are plenty of Jap marques involved - it was good to see the Dynojet Toyota Avensis doing so well and kicking some Honda ****!. It's built just around the corner from my house and is a new car and new driver for this year. They finished 3rd, 2nd (highest finish so far) and 9th in the 3 races of the day as well as smashing the record for fastest lap! Not a bad day's haul.
