When I read a thread etc the new post icons still show, only way to get rid of them is to use the 'mark forums read' button.

Not really seeing this anywhere else, is it a forum issue or something wrong with my browser?

Using the latest Firefox.

(steviewevie posting on Lexusboy's laptop).

I had this same problem in Internet Explorer, and tried Firefox and it was the same there too. Eventually I found a way around it, I can only guess that this is some sort of vBulletin (forum software) "feature".

When you have read all the posts in, say, the IS200 Engine & Transmission forum, if you click on the "Engine & Transmission" link towards the top of the screen (where it is showing which forum you're in), then the "IS200" link, then the "Lexus" link, then "Car Manufacturers", you should find that it's cleared those "new posts" icons.

It only seems to work (for me, at least) if you go to each "parent" forum in turn, and as you go it seems to clear them.

Sorry, I know this sounds a bit clunky and its a bit annoying. As I said, I don't really know why it's doing it, maybe it'll be fixed in a future release of vBulletin ?

Haven't bothered trying it, to much clicking for me, but thanks for the help anyway.

What what it's worth, this problem seems to have disappeared for me, which makes things a bit easier (i.e. seeing what I've read and what I haven't, without extra clicking).

I wonder if The Stig changed something ?
