A big day of beautiful weather, listening to the Twinny burble and the radio while I put the elbow-grease into detailing.

It's all been done, so here's the result (Pic Heavy):

haha Wolverton road Tongue deposit of £20 required, £30 upon completion Tongue

And thank you both, has been a while since I got to know the car so well

A good job I have the clio parked behind the GTi, my neighbour backed into it today!!! No real noticeable damage but the GTi would have scuffed for sure! :O

Thanks mate, I like to think so! Smile

I have missed a pretty beastly update - I lowered the front myself and the rear is being done at the garage because I ran out of time!

I have successfully swapped out Cari's (red GTi) front suspension with Fluffy's (white GTi).

I removed the front McPhearson strut, stripped it down and greased appropriately, then whacked it all back together with new springs:

Then I took Fluffy's suspension off which was a little tougher to do - the brake likes were held in with a full 360 bracket which meant I would normally have to disconnect and bleed the brakes. But I wasn't having that so I used a hacksaw and cut through the bracket to get the line free. A little ag I know, but it got the job done and quickly! Plus they are getting chucked when the time comes.

With that all done I saw a small and I do mean small, chip out of the dented wig no winning here but it's getting sprayed soon as a pay packet came through from my work at college so all is well in the world.

So an hour whizzed by getting the new kit onto Fluffy and another hour getting it onto Cari - getting it on Cari was a mare as she wasn't letting me raise the shock top secure the top mount with the 3 12mm nuts and so I slowly dropped the car down onto the studs which worked a treat.

I dropped both cars to the floor and took the newly lowered front end for a drive - much much better road holding and surprisingly comfortable.

Tomorrow I will do the rear which I know is a big pain, hence why I started on the front which I knew I could tackle without too much disaster.

Here is the one picture you're getting for now Tongue

Important updates - carbon skin braided brake lines have arrived and an upper windscreen seal is on order!

There is a catastrophic water leak from the sunroof tray which really is going to take some doing to sort out properly but I'm not far off. Big Grin

Since I last posted here a few things have been added - tow strap and I rebuilt the front callipers and master cylinder - which still needs replacing at £300 a piece
