heater led swap
heater led swap
Yeah, I am also not 100% on colour anymore. I had blue before, and was going to go for blue again, (with matching instruments and footwell lights) but now I've seen some in white and might fancy that! Hmmm...
yer if i could test it then i would solder it, i might try using my back of the unit with your front and see if it works that way, then i can solder it no problems. please you like, not sure about the clock as it should be working, not touched it when i did the work so i'm a bit stuck, does it light up? then maybe it needs swapping around if not, maybe thats whats wrong
it dose light up Jay. And it did not work the first time I fitted it , but the second time the clock did work , but now it dose not :confused1:
try taking out the bulbs and fitting the ones you have in your old one for now to see if it works again. if it does then it must be the bulbs around the wrong way or a short it there, maybe one is the right way and one the wrong way around, have a try with the old bulbs first as they dont matter what way around they go in. then report back
they do light up jay , but its the time and outside temp that dont work
the only thing i can see it to be is the ribbon cable, try taking it out and putting it back again,
I have done that Jay , but I'll do it again to see if I can break it some more :whistling:
any news.?
can you put the old clock back in and check that it's working?
we can just change out the leds from one unit to the other if there is something wrong with th old one. as i dont need the board but just the light ring.
how did you get on with the needles
Well I have sent you my original heater controls Jay.
I have put the needles on but I need to sort out the fuel one because I'm not sure if I put it back on in the correct place, I have not been out in the dark with it yet so not sure how bright they are. In the day light with my lights on you would not know they are on or not.
Also been very busy with moving house so not had much time to play with the car
best to go tank the car to the top then fit the needle to full, thats how i did mine. also if it's wrong just now you will still get the low warning light the same even if the needle says half full
