Don't think I've got a diff from reading bout other models but I wouldn't have a clue what it looks like, I'll check over the weekend when I see stav

just a thought does it have any cheaper brand tyres? i had some budget tyres on mine once and i had a hummin noise noticed more on motorway, just need to try someone elses wheels on your car to see if it goes.Smile

It will have a diff otherwise your gearbox would only send power to one wheel :lol:

The difference as to whether it has an open diff or a limited slip diff doesn't matter - they both take oil which can be changed (in fact I think they even take the same oil on the IS200, just not as much in the LSD).

It has got a right mix on at the moment whilst waiting for my alloys to be delivered, which fingers crossed is next week. But ruled that out because its when I'm on the accelerator and goes away when am off it.

LOL, that's something new I've learned today. I knew what LSD's were I just didn't realise there was an open diff as well. I'm thinking mine is the open but I'll have to do some investigating.

Unless you have a sport or a past owner has retrofitted one, my understanding is that you will have the standard open diff.

Nope not got the sport, and the elderly owner before certainly didn't retro fit one
