If it's the Pioneer Appradio 2, it is supposed to work with the iPhone 5 if you use an adaptor.

Nope, it's a da01, which is the original appradio head unit. The problem is the iPhone 4 socket supports analog which the appradio uses, and iPhone 5's lightning connector is digital.

The head unit itself is pretty limited connectivity wise as its just supposed to be an extension of the iPhone.

But think I'm going to just get hold of a amp wiring kit and try find somewhere to mount the amp.

Any ideas where might be best to mount it so I can still get a cable to the front if the car?

I already have one. Unfortunately the signal coming out of the iPhone 5 is digital, and the one coming out the 4 is analog. :-(
