That sounds like a familiar tune Dino.

The guy in question, is reputable and have heard good things from many after speaking to a few others, about him etc.
I would 90% be doing it myself though with help of course.
Would love a v8 or 1JZ, those are my options if I can make funds allow.

yeah if i was clever i would of replaced the box first but the itch to boost was far too infectious, dont let it bite until you have all the remedies. it bites hard
bounty` I've got a guy that can do a drive in drive out conversion for me if I lose my bottle, for £1700.
He competes in the BDC in his 1JZ Altezza, so knows his stuff

I doubt I could run an IS300 daily tbh, they're so bad on fuel.
I know for a fact that an SR20'd IS would be more economical (Spoken to someone who's owned both), hence Im looking at swaps and not turbo'ing a 300.
To be honest though, I'm open to suggestions, the knowledge on here is vastly superior to my own

If fuel is an issue, then any turbo conversion will cost silly money to run. All the engines you have mentioned will struggle to get low 20's mpg, you could be different and drop a BMW 330d in an is200 andhave the best of both worlds, power and efficiency.
I would have named a jap diesel if they had a good one - but they don't.
IS200s are worse on fuel than IS300s. So in a straight swap, the IS300 would return better economy. Obviously once you start adding forced induction that goes out the window.
You can basically make MPG figures up with forced induction. I could get my MR2 (290bhp 3SGTE) to return 14MPG or 35MPG, depended entirely how I drove it.
