2tongues Agreed Moley, BUT the school also has a huge influence on the child, if there is no discipline there then all your hard work could be undone.....

Ok I see your point, but I dont agree with it sorry mate.

If they know they will get into trouble when you find out about it should be enough for them to see sence.

But saying that she was no angle but was never in trouble with the police or did anything that was really bad

2tongues The problem is the so called "political correctness and Children's rights brigade" this has made life very hard for teachers/police to discipline children when they need to be disciplined.

Children are now only to well aware of their so called "rights" as are the parents looking for a quick buck should the teacher discipline their child - they can't even tell a child its been "naughty".

This society is FAR to lenient and soft touch. I understand the need for children to be safe but it has gone to far the other way now and children are IMHO at more risk because they are free to run wild with little or no consequences.

Moley But its all down to the parents to bring them correctly, NO one else

Actually agree with both of you, they're both as important as each other. My parents were always pretty strict with us growing up, and was also lucky enough to go to a top private school where they were exactly the same. On either side if you screwed up there were going to be heavy consequences and that's what turns you into a decent person.

Completely agree with all these so called rights kids have these days, just a load of b*****s if you ask me - beatings in school was probably a little excessive but beatings for kids committing crimes should be the way rather than an asbo...........

Personally I hope I'll be able to send kids to private school , but the way their prices have gone up over the last few years is quite frightening!
