Hi Moley,

I was mooching around on You Tube and spotted a vid showing off some LED side lights on the wing mirrors, there was a link on there to the club home page.

Do you fellas stick with OEM parts when carrying out a service??

I've seen some bits on ebay but was planning on picking them up from a local Toyota dealership. Does anyone know of any other decent online sources rather than ebay??

I'm guessing its coolant, gearbox, diff and oil/pollen filter that i'm gonna need.

Cheers 4 the tip, is the a general feeling as to what the best oil is for the car?

Was looking at the Denso IK20 for the plugs but the price seems a bit steep next to the SK20', the thought of trying to squeeze a few more drops from the mpg appeals though.

Mrmen your very lucky to be living near the Bandit,
This guy can tell you everything you want to know about your car and as he lives near by i sure he knows all the places on your door step.
Opie oil is a good contact and there are listed on this forum under Traders.
Keep a eye every few weeks they do a special offer these are worth waiting for.
If your looking to hang around (we hope you are~)then it always worth getting a up grade to a Outlaw account as we have lots of different traders in this area that offer our outlaw members discounts off their goods.
Normally a good oil for is200 is 5w-30 synthetic hope this helps.

The IK20 plugs are normally actually cheaper than the SK20s, because they last half the time (30K instead of 60K). Opie Oils do them at a good price.

The pollen filter only costs a few quid from Toyota, so does the oil filter, so you might as well stick with OEM there.

I second the recommendation for 5W30 oil, either semi-synthetic or even better fully synth. Again Opie do some good deals on motor oils.

Get the proper coolant from Toyota. There are two types that were used on the IS200 depending on your model year, your Toyota/Lexus dealer should be able to advise which one you need (I think it's a choice between the pink one and the red coolant).

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !

Cheers for the advice, I've had a butchers on the Opie site and signed up. Its good to see the club listed up for the discount. Just ordered some Denso IK20 plugs for £50 with delivery.

I'm gonna go with the OEM Toyota coolant and oil/pollen filter, any thoughts on the diff and gearbox oils?

I fitted a K&N a couple of weeks back and noticed a lot of you guys/girls have also, are there any real benefits to the filter other than the lifespan?

Yes, it makes a nicer noise ! Seriously, it does let the engine breathe better and I noticed a slight improvement in mpg.

As for the gearbox/diff oils, it's a manual, right ? So you'd use the same oil for both the gearbox and diff, you need some 75w-90 gear oil for both, around 3 litres in total.
