yep get a decent lid - not a £40 cheapie plastic one..... and make sure it fits correctly! rather spend more to find one that fits properly than saving a few £ and it doesnt fit.

Try different brands as the "head shape" is different between models.

this is mine http://www.helmetcity.co.uk/Schuberth-S1...AKBY4.aspx it was the only 1 i could find that had a decent sun visor, fitted properly and was quiet - still need ear plugs though!

And please please make sure you wear real motorbike boots and not trainers! forget wearing jeans - they offer as much protection as a wet paper bag, but you can get jeans with a aramid layer that will not wear through so they are nic e and cool during summer RRP about £80

piccy of me in my summer kit ( i have a sset for summer and 1 normal set for spring and autumn)

TBH i wouldnt go for another bike, have a try first and remember you are leaning forward qite a bit to your wrists may hurt after a while., but it is a small bike so you can filter easily and good that it is a 4 stroke!

this is the helmet i saw.. was in the sale at £50..
http://www.helmetcity.co.uk/Caberg-Trip-...AJDC1.aspx

there were also some armored jackets/trousers at 50% off so they worked out at about £150..

i have a pair of sturdy timberland boots that the shop said would be fine for riding in (as opposed to them selling me some!) so just needed some gloves i think!

I still havent decided 100% on what to do!

Marsdendean I would love to ride a bike, but would never buy one just because of the damage that can be caused when you come off. At least in a car you have some metal around you . . .

very very true!
