parthiban In theory it would be fantastic, everything hidden away - and just have the screen mounted on the wall above desk.

However, I'm starting to have second thoughts, the more I think about it the PC will be expelling hot air, so it itself will be heating the cupboard up. So short of leaving the cupboard open all the time (which defeats the point of hiding it all away) I think I won't bother.

I think I'll still hide as many peripherals as I can in the cupboard but prob just leave the tower under the desk.

what you got to remeber is that a pc doenst just expell air, its all about circulation, thats why they say by leaving the cover off a pc tower does not improve your temps it actually causes more damage due to dust, where as a closed case with a fan at the back pulling air into the tower and a fan at the front expelling air works much better, the hot air coming out can then be reused and go back into the tower in a sense, and only if you over max it, you will get hot air.

for a desktop pc you wouldn't really want the cpu hitting above 75c at 100% load and gfx card varys depending on manufacturer.

Laptops run hotter anyways so can operate at slightly higher temps.

Ok tried the realtemp thing, but didn't realise it only works with core processors, it just politely told me my pentium D was rubbish :tongue_smilie:

Prob best to just play it safe and leave the tower outside :Sulk:

That didn't work either unfortunately, just tried speedfan after seeing it mentioned in a google search but that just seems to be rubbish, cos it says:

CPU: -128C
Ambient: 36C
Remote: 50C
HD0: 39C
Temp1: 40C

Now is that CPU temp just rubbish or is it one of the other numbers that's relevant here?

It's minus 128, that's what's even more crazy! It can't be running at 128 though anyway or I'm sure it would have melted, I think that program clearly isn't working properly.

the software is fine, as it works perfectly on mine, maybe something up with the sensors?
