DJ Wozza I like it, but it looks a bit high at the front ? (arches especially)

agree but they probably did that so can go over speed humps plus it is technically a rally car. but nothing some even bigger wheels and slamming it a bit more for the people who want to mod it, dealers cant do our job for us we'd have nothing to do to our cars.

Marsdendean Too much power running throu those front wheels, and IMO, that is proved by the 5.4 to 60 timing, despite it has 350BHP.

The GS450H has 340 (ish) BHP and can do it in 5.9, an evo has 300BHP and can do it in 4.6 seconds. IMO that is way to much power, but the matt black does look good!

It is slow compared with the Evo, they should have spent a little more and given it 4WD, would be a real animal then.

Marsdendean Its basically a Ford RS that has been tweeked.

When i had my Seat Leon, people were mapping them and producing around 300BHP (proven on dyno runs). Its very easy on German cars (espesh seat's) to tweek certain things and gain big power. I think the map cost just under £500 to raise it from (245BHP - on paper, but people were seeing upto 260BHP) to just over 300BHP

A lot of German cars can be "chipped" with something called Bluefin, just plug it into the OBD socket and off you go - simple and easy to remove should you sell the car.

The lack of 4wd is really confusing considering this car and Ford's WRC entry are similar. Am I right in thinking that the RS500 is just the final 500 MK2 RS cars? I would bet that minus a special paintjob and a numbered plaque there isn't much spec difference.

Maybe they just don't have faith in their 4wd drivetrain! I have to admit that if I were looking at hot hatches right now I'd be looking at the new Scirocco R. Or waiting patiently for the FT-86 Wink (Yes yes I know it's bigger than a hot hatch)

toxo Am I right in thinking that the RS500 is just the final 500 MK2 RS cars?

Not quite, it's got a few small tweaks to the engine and associated bits - not that different though.

IS200 Turbo project now just about complete ! See my thread here and leave your comments.
Now running standalone Syvecs ECU and no stock ECU !
