P.Lindblom Flight tickets to Edinburgh are cheap and I've always wanted to go to Scotland, but what to do when we get there? Any recommendations? :tongue_smilie:

OK Patrick, i'm maybe not the best guy on Edinburgh, only been 3 times, twice with the wife & kids, once on a stag party (no points for geussing on which i had the most fun)
But i've done a few touristy things, Edinbugh castle, you cannot go and and not visit the most impressive castle in Scotland (castles & whisky) it's what we do!
I did the Royal mile ghost tour, cheesy, guides are a good laugh, and went out of their way to scare the life out of my 2 boys!!
Edinburgh zoo, but for me a zoo is a zoo, nothing special about this one, wife & kids love it tho.
I haven't done the museium of Scotland, but a Canadian Guy that i work with stayed in Edinburgh for a couple of days before going home after finishing his trip offshore, and he raved about it, but he's big on Scottish history (he say's Canada has none??)
Oh yeah, wife loves the shopping there.
But if it's night time activities, shows & loads of people & gig's you want, go in August when the Fringe festival is on, but everthing becomes more expensive for a month!!
Bobby Got to do the Royal Mile and up to the castle, then other attractions are Royal Yatch Brittania at Leith docks, the pubs in Rose Street, Harvey Nichols for lunch on the top floor balcony (http://www.harveynichols.com/output/Page145.asp). Also on the Royal Mile there is a whisky tasting experience which is good, the Camara Obscura very interesting and if you are staying at night see if the ghost walks are on. There is an excellent zoo just outside the city centre, easy to get to on bus.
Enjoy a great city
