Hello all.....thanks for the welcome messages!

Need a bit of help too, that's what we're here for right?!

Well, a few things I need advice on...

Firstly and worryingly, my ZX burns off oil on tickover (white smoke, smells 'rich', haven't checked if its exiting from one exhaust only...)

Now it doesn't do this all the time and as soon as the car is moving, no signs of white smoke. Also if I am sitting stationary and it starts to smoke, increasing revs slightly to 2000rpm stops the smoking. Could it be PC valves or is it possible turbo seals are on way out (hope not!) or......???

Any suggestions are welcome.

Secondly, recently the clutch has started slipping when I put my foot down. Driving 'sensibly' there are no problems but when I boot it, quite some clutch slip occurring. Is my clutch on its way out or could it just be pedal return spring / master cylinder that need replacing? Nissan did issue a service bulletin that suggests replacing the above before necessarily blaming the actual clutch.

Any ideas? And if so, anywhere I can get a decent clutch for cheap (Exedy, £185 delivered, Ebay, is the cheapest I've found so far)

Any answers or help really would be appreciated

Thanks!!

Have you checked the plugs on it mate, my skyline did it for a bit and thought it was something major but turned out the plugs were shot and needed replacing with some cooler grade ones, it had heat range 6 in when i had it but changed them for a 7? plugs should be a grey colour when you look at them after removing, if there white there running too hot, black too rich!

My skyline was running pretty rich at the time and could of really done with re-tuning, it was originally mapped with a stainless downpipe and FMIC, which were removed before i brought it? so over fuelled quite a bit?

The clutch sounds like my Celica at the moment, same effect as yours drive steady and its fine, but drop it down and boot it and it starts to slip, sometimes it does it other times its fine, i'd say its the clutch but probably better to get a 2nd opinion :thumbup1:

Lexus IS200 Sport Navigator (Now being stripped again)
