Initial impressions are good. There is absolutely no kerb rash on any of the wheels. No buckles or significant scratches either.
As far as I can tell, all that is required is re-polishing of the lips (quite corroded from sitting in a breakers yard for years) and then re-powdercoating the middle sections.
Fingers crossed I got myself a bargain set of rays.
Just got back from picking these up from the couriers depot after I got carded while on holiday.

Indeed. This weekend will mostly involve scrubbing the **** out of them, rubbing them down with some 2500 grit, then some 3000, then some wire wool, then some heavy metal polish, then some wax.

Nah not yet. I'm gonna have a bash at the worst one this weekend and see what it comes out like. If I cant get it good enough then I'll be sending them away for a refurb.
I've also gotta get my arches rolled before I can get them fitted .

What happened after that was a lot of soaking in Bilberry Wheel cleaner, a lot of scrubbing, a lot of pressure washing, a lot of polishing with AutoGlym Metal Polish....and..

Hardly made a dent in all the pitted in dirt. The edge of the rim came up 'ok', but this has made me realise that I will need to send them away for a professional refurb where they can dip them in acid, polish them on a proper machine and re-powdercoat the middles.

Currently debating on whether to get a new set of split rim bolts for them at the moment. Will need 80, and as they are M7 bolts its looking to be about £150 all inc for them alone!!
Wheels have just been dropped off at refurb place. Looks like it's going to cost me a pretty penny to get them all polished up. Well more than a brand new set of ordinary aftermarket wheels

£1.50 per bolt, 80 bolts = £120
then another £30 for 80 nuts to go on the back.
My jaw did hit the floor when he said that, but coming home and looking online M7 bolts are extremely rare, even more so when you're looking for high tensile socket cap ones with a flange.
I'm going to ask about using M6 bolts instead as they are far more common and I can get a bag of 100 decent ones for about £40.
