How hard to install a turbo kit?
if you have big enough pockets you can make anything fit...lol
You could always buy it then give it to a good tuning garage and say look fit this. Then they have to over come the porblems. Also if you get a quote up front they can't bend you over when they say this dont fit, or this was the worng way round. Take them pictures of the kit and say how much to fit this....sorted.
I have just fitted a turbo kit too my car is200. I am no tec but I am lucky to work at Lexus garage and had a ramp and tec's around me. But took me a day and half too do. I test fitted everything then took it of too get everything in right place. Just have the emange left too put in with all the gauges, turbo timer and electronic boost control. but is running on low boost with a fcd at the min.
Cheers Paul, thats a reassuring post. How does it run without the emanage?
Thats one of my biggest concerns I guess - getting it all fitted and installed but then not being able to use it until its mapped. I'd rather split up the 'payment' of it into monthly chunks..
Mar - buy kit
Apr - get kit installed
May - get tuned
..but without having the car off the road for more than a week
if i was doing this again i would get a aftermarket ecu Fitted 1st with a base map for the standard car done
following month would be fit the turbo and have it tuned that way the car wont be off the road to long and you wont have to waste to much time at the mappers once the turbo is on as the base map is already in the car....
Rabster that's a good idea matey. It runs fine how it's setup and happy with the extra power. It was quite at work so I went for it so was all on a dusted. But just not had time to wire in the emanage blue as no harness for plug and play. Hmmm unless you could make me 1 up rabster as I know your good with wiring and would pay you for it.
Sounds good mate, cant wait to see this at the pod
