A lot of people simply don't shop around. Even with annoying singing guys and meerkats shoving the options in your face every time you turn on the TV. If they get away with it on just a small percentage of customers they are quids in. Many ring them up and immediately they drop a couple of hundred. They are just seeing what they can get away with.

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

I always shop around but I think this price hike would make anyone want to shop around. For example if the price came in at £650 or max £700 someone might be inclined to just let it renew if they can't be bothered, but a rise of £300 is going to make even the laziest person look for a cheaper quote!

Silly business model if that is what they are doing, I'd be quite surprised if anyone would renew a price hike like that unless they are just don't read the letter for whatever reason Smile

Thats why mine is going off the road tomorrow last year i payed around £900 my renewal came at over £1200 even though i had a bump i bought the claim back and thats with 4 years ncb. Done some searches and still they came back close to that.

Carnt be arsed with paying ridiculous amounts to insurance companys so im getting a bike.

Also the fuel is another thing !

Insurance has gone up a lot, for everybody. I read average rise was 35%! But obviously it would be much higher for some (cos that's how averages work!)

Christ, that's nearly what I pay on the MR2, which has a modification list as long as your arm and probably twice the power!

Mine didn't go up last year, but I went from 2yrs no claims to 3 years at that point, so the increase in premiums effectively wrote off anything I'd have gained from the extra 33% NCB. I won't be renewing my insurance this year so I won't find out how much it would've gone up by, fortunately!

Marsdendean ^^ I doubt they will.

Mine went up £660 and i managed to get it somewhere else for £100 less than it was last year. Currently paying £1060 for a year . . . . Sad

Nah they will, if you've been with them a while they pretty much match anything, and Elephant is the same company so it would be stupid not to.

Yours went up £660! Is that due to accidents or your new address after moving?
