We have an underfloor wet system in one bathroom & the utility room under tiles and under engineered oak floorboards in the dining room and living room. Works really well with a separate room stat for each sector.
The kitchen and family bathroom have electric underfloor heating under tiles with a floor thermostat for each rather than a room stat. Also works well but longer to heat up than the wet system so we tend to leave it on all the time. Would of put in a wet system in these rooms but it would of required a lot of work to get the floor height consistent with adjoining floors.
Rest of the house still uses standard wet radiators off the same pressurised system as the wet underfloor.

IS 200 Sport with a few mods, Standardish IS-F. The IS250 SE-L with a few mods has gone to a new home.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

my garage is going to be about 40 Meters away from the house , but I'm thinking of having a triple garage and enough height to get a ramp in at the end . Also have it two story high and floor the loft area and have a big games room and may be a another separate room up there to . We are going to build it the agricultural shed way but make it look like a garage :kiltsmilie: . But we are just at the planning stage at the moment .

been talking about this at work, apparently for the gas systems you need to dig about a foot down in the first place to then lay the correct flooring to get the pipes in.

The elec system is easier because you can just lay that

I thought the pipes can be set into heat reflective coated polystyrene type stuff that is only 1-2" thick? Have seen it done this way. Have laid a few carpets over heated floors in my time.

I have no notes in my wallet, and could not even afford the sausage and bacon baguette I wanted at lunch today (it was £1.75) so not got a lot to offer at the mo. Unless you'd consider a swap for a broken V8 Land Rover?

Gas systems?? The wet system is just a network of plastic flexible pipe laid on top of the floor base (concrete or board) and then covered in a self levelling compound/screed. The engineered wood floorboard or ceramic tiles are laid on top of that, so the total depth I had was around +40-45mm on top of what I started with. With the electric system I had to cover the original floorboards with plywood before taping the elements in place, and then covering in self levelling compound before tiling. My final depth off the original floorboarding for the electric sysytems is around +30mm, but that could have been reduced if I had an original concrete floor and didn't have to lay thin ply over the floorboards.
