lil_rob So are we saying that standard 330 is a ok amount of power to run without blowing s**t up lol

A few years ago it was thought that anything over 240bhp would be pushing it. But more recently several people have run 280-300 without problems. Anything over 300 I would expect to involve some risk, but that is double the power the stock internals were originally expected to see! A touch over 300bhp can be done, but be sure your fuelling is perfect and keep the standard rev limit.

Confusedad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. Confusedad:

The demo car ran at plus 330 for a number of months with no issues at the time but does sound like it may not have done the engine good in the long run 2tounges drove my car on the Swiss alps trip 2 years ago and was impressed with the power delivery, I had the system on mine over a year with no real issues but did do regular maintenance on the car which may have helped

The demo car also did god knows how many rolling road pulls to get it mapped etc so this may again have had a bearing on the engine.....

Stix44 Sprinter what cheese are you eating if it handle those types of numbers?!?

Personally those are impressive numbers considering they haven't had to open the engine!

I guess I was wrong. lol I thought they were weak engines because everyone seems scared to get extra HP from anything other than a TTE supercharger unless they've fitted supra internals. If they can handle that sort of power I'll probably be speeding up my plans to turbo mine then!

If they can take up to 300hp why is everyone so reluctant to run more power through them? <<<EDIT: I just remembered the answer to his question is...money. lol

And another answer is many people mod their daily drive, so the worry about blowing an engine is very real.

Rabsters IS200T was very impressive on boost. 1st gear was redundant 2nd was also pretty much useless the power came in so quickly.

over 250 you will need a new clutch and bigger injectors and fuel pump and return lines so if you not going to do all the work and costs your better to buy a compressor kit and a bigger pully.
