Fog light wiring issues!

If I disconnect it, I get no lights at all. This is all a little complex for me!

Plus what little electric tools I do have are at work.
I guess if I trace back to where this relay interrupts the factory wiring and remove the interruption I should return it to stock? Though that is harder than I make it sound!

ad: It was a tough call to make, but the Supercharged IS200 is being retired. ad:Ok so I traced that wire through and it goes to a relay, which is connected to several other relays. It's the one on the far right:

Indeed. If you think that is a mess, you should see the boot! There is some clifford wiring too, yes. As well as loads of wiring and an interface box for a laser jamming device. It's the light wiring I wanna concentrate on now though. Not sure what these four relays are for, but I don't like them!

I now see mine has barely any wiring now Ive seen that!

toxo Also there are loads of funny rules about lights on the front of the car - illegal to have both dipped beam and main beam on at the same time.
Really????? That's standard on most cars with seperate bulbs for dipped/main. Its definitely standard on the IS.

Yes really, that's WHY it's standard on most cars - because it is a legal requirement!

Sounds great in theory, but there is so much wiring and custom work that I don't know what's stock and what's not! This relay seems to be linked to another relay which seems to be linked in to the alarm? I have a clifford alarm in there, remote start module, laser jammer and god knows what else. Then there is all the stereo wiring, but that is at least easy to identify! Whatever I have done I have now disabled the headlights completely while the misses was in the supermarket, and had to drive home with side lights and fogs on!
My knowledge of this stuff is limited. But if you know me, you will know I will have a crack at anything - especially when I should pay a professional - with varying levels of success! The wire from the stalk should be a trigger, right? Which actives the relay to switch the lights (I'm guessing) down at the driver side kick panel? If I can figure out which connector and pins relate to the headlights down there, I can trace back, remove the relay and re-join the wires to return it to stock? The relay will also have a power and ground that are no longer needed? THERE ARE JUST SO MANY WIRES!

19-07-2020, 11:59 AM #28You could just cheat and run some wires from the stalk to your own relay then directly to the headlights. That way you can get you MOT then sort it out properly.
