The second one is a hugely better chassis. But that's a kit, whereas the first one is fully built (XB). So that's why the second one is not much more expensive even though it's so much better. Both will need some modifications for drifting, but that shouldn't be too complicated/hard on either.

There's an argument that says if you're going to modify it, and therefore have to take it apart, perhaps you should build it from scratch anyway ?

I suggest either a pre-built non-drift-spec model isn't much good if you want to drift it. But fine if you don't of course !

or lots of them

That's a kit, and Yokomo does have a good name, as Rabster says. I thought I saw a version of that one somewhere that was ready-to-run, but I can't seem to find it at the moment.

ok, I found it. You can get a part-finished Altezza/IS here, and then combine that with their pre-assembled chassis, if you want to minimise the work getting it going.

Lexusboy What size model should you really buy if your going to race it?

Just race it and not drift you mean ? I will have to leave Rabster or someone else to answer it.

For drifting you want a 1/10 scale car, and it doesn't really matter whether it's a 190mm or 200mm chassis - different manufacturers use either one or the other. You just make sure your body will suit the chassis if you're getting the body and chassis from different manufacturers.

Are you interested in that IS/Altezza body ? I have had very good service from Modelsport, they should be able to tell you roughly when they're expecting more stock in.

Or you can get it here from Hong Kong, and they have it in stock. I've used those guys too, again good service. You'll have to pay a VAT when it comes in though.
