steviewevie I think Dyson are way over-priced and tend to make way too much in the way of their claims of efficiency etc. e.g this hand dryer from Dyson is used at my local hospital and I think it's absolutely rubbish, would much rather use one of the more "normal" versions !
Really? I think those hand dryers are fantastic, they dry your hands so fast compared to a normal dryer - only thing that gets close is the xcelerator but they're pretty expensive too I believe.
Agree about the prices though, they are quite high - I would never have paid full price for one, but the effective £170 I paid for ours isn't too bad considering.

I'm suprised. The ones at my hospital (I have used two, i.e. it's not just one that could be faulty) seem rubbish to me. The slot to put your hands in is narrow, so you can't rub your hands together as they're drying, which seems to slow it down to me.

You're not supposed to rub your hands with the dysons, the high power blade effect forces the water off your hands downwards - you're supposed to put your hands right in, and then pull them out really slowly, over a period of 10-20 seconds. If you do it exactly like that, it's amazing how quick it dries your hands and how they are actually properly dry, unlike a normal hand dryer where you get bored and end up just wiping it on your trousers :p
