dimis Stevie, it does not matter where you position the fins on the pipes (before or after the ic). The inntercooler is used to cool the air. So if you enter less air temp then the output will be less. (ok it depends on the size and the efficiency of the ic).

Not sure I agree with that. I am no expert in thermodynamics, but I would put money on the fact that unless the pipe is very hot, fins will do absolutely nothing whatsoever.

On a CPU of course it is very very hot indeed, so fins will help, especially given the very small surface area of a CPU (so with the fins you have a *much* larger surface area). Don't forget that pipes in a car typically have a large surface area, so the amount of extra surface you are presenting via the fins is not big at all.

My IC pipes are cold to the touch when running? so I can't see any extra benefit. Sorry with Steve on this one.
