Which car
Which car
OK that seams to make sense with what I have read.
Of course owners clubs always make a mountain out of mole hill in regard to faults with their cars!!
What about the Jag. 2L Diesel?
Drove the Mazda 6 today, a customer has one as a company car - nice, but no Lexus or BMW.
I think the short list will be:
BMW
Prius
Civic
Golf/Bora
In that order, depends on what the auctions have going through.
I saw a lovely 2005 BMW SE Sport Diesel (full leather, no damage etc) go for 4.8K last week in Bedford auction house, they tend to have a vast array of cars all ex lease so high on miles but always maintained.
I take an experienced car buyer with me, and he does all the bidding so his "clients" don't get carried away or buy something terrible!! Always handy to know people.
Test drove both the main condensers yesterday - god I love having so many dealers so close to home!!
Civic - new shape gorgeous especially in Orange paint:tongue_smilie: bit bland in handling but goes well enough in oil burner trim, petrol needed the life revving out of it to get it to move, so diesel model is the one to go for.
Prius - still amazed at this car (2nd test drive) there's just something about it that I love, but can't put a finger on the reason? Very smooth and quiet, numb steering and slow - but keeps up with traffic up to 80MPH no good for high speed overtaking.
BMW 320D - Only would be able to afford a high miles version, not sure on the styling inside. This is off the list.
Golf - Far to boring and dull interiors compared with the Civic. The 1.6 petrol I tried was dull as dishwater. This is now off the list.
So from a short list a couple of test drives, I will be looking for a Civic Diesel, or a low miles Prius. With the money I have a Civic with 70K miles would cost the same as a Prius with 50K Miles - Both incredibly reliable, both hatchbacks with flat rear floors when seats are put down, both as easy as each other to sell in 12 to 18 months, both affected about the same in depreciation, both return excellent MPG, but Pruis is £100 less to tax and £150 less insurance.
Lets see what my mate can get at auction, I have told him the budget, and cars I like now its pretty much up to him.
Just put a deposit down on my new car, its not coming from auction, bargain price from a main dealer.
A 2007 Prius T-Spirit with 7K on the clock, ex demo car from Toyota HQ.
Sorry to ask mate, how much and is it a 07 or 57 plate?
You'll love all the gadgets on it mate, good sound system too. Need anything to know ask me or parthiban as we have priuseseses
£9K mate. on an "07", but my personal plate is going on to the car. Bought from a Toyota dealer aswell, so the price is great.
The Civics were not in the running with a car that has such low miles.
9k, we bought ours for more than that on a 57 plate, quite a few k more lol.
Nice one mate, IPA is very useful and clever lol.
