Any Plumbers in the house??
Any Plumbers in the house??
Here's some pics of one that I put in with soldered fittings from under a basin in a groundfloor utility room. I fitted an in-line ball valve to isolate the tap in the winter, but because of the short length of pipe exposed to the outside I've never had a problem with freezing. The tee off the cold feed is buried behind the tiles.
That is pretty much all i would need outside so cant see it having problems freezing.....so do all of those inline taps have valves built in?
The fitting shown in Marsdendean and my pics is an in-line ball valve for the option to isolate the tap from the water supply. It's turned off and on with a screwdriver.
Parts to set up my outside tap:
-1 off 15mm soldered tee
-3 off 15mm soldered elbows
-15mm copper pipe cut to suit (5 off lengths)
-1 off 15mm in-line ball valve with compression fittings for end connection
-1 off outside tap and flange mounting with 15mm compression fitting
and some PTFE tape for the two threaded connections on the tap.
Cheers Mate, will be doing this at somepoint next week:thumbup1:
Thanks for the input guys, done this last weekend, used copper in the end with an inline ball valve, 'T' and a few bends......had to have more pipe outside then i first thought as it would have been awkward to have run the pipe from inside behind the cupboards so just went straight out and round!
Nice job mate, where's the pics and the walkthrough? :w00t:
oopps, didnt do one:Fish:.....can post a pic up of a tap on the wall if you like:lol:
