Marsdendean All our shell near us and Tesco use this fuel, its either that or v power.
Can't agree with parth thou,I tend to drive everything flat out, more power just means quicker!!!!

On the way back from Switzerland, terry drove flat out all the way, we stuck to the speed limit (sometimes well below because of heavy rain) and had several good stops, and were only 30 mins later at the tunnel, indeed at one point we were ahead of them. So 30 mins over 8 hours aint that bad, goes to show speeding is not necessary to make just as good progress.

If i was to drive flat out then i may make 2-3 minutes over the 12 miles i travel to work, so for me it not worth racing as you are harder on your car and on your wallet.
Maybe thats why i get 25 mpg but horses for courses.....:thumbup1:
I think as you get older and boy am i old:laugh: I leave for work in the morning and take my time to get into work.
If i was to drive flat out then i may make 2-3 minutes over the 12 miles i travel to work, so for me it not worth racing as you are harder on your car and on your wallet.

The Prius gets on average 51mpg on Tesco fuel and 53mpg on Shell. Thats with my normal everyday drive so a fair comparison. On the way to JAE with a fully loaded car A/C and blowers on, stereo loud, all lights on etc it did 56mpg because of the slow moving traffic. Can't complain.
OK 2mpg isn't that much but as they say every little helps!!
Indecently the MR2 runs better on Tesco High Octane fuel then Shells or BP's.
Mate the a/c on your car isn't like others,yours is powered straight from the high voltage battery and not belt driven like other cars.
Having your a/c on has no affect on mpg on the prius.

12-08-2017, 03:33 AM #26I know that but it does have an effect because it runs the traction battery down, therefore eventually there will be an effect on gas mileage - there is no such thing as free energy but your right it has far less effect then a traditional A/C system.

your lights stereo etc are powered by the 12v battery.....

well not really as when your poodling along backing off the throttle braking etc that charges/regenerates the battery more than what the a/c uses the only time this is wrong is when your not moving the engine will kick in sooner than without it on...
