Haven't put anything in this for a while (mainly because other drivers have been behaving themselves recently :laughSmile

Had an incident this morning (on the A406 as usual), for a few days they've had sections where they've had these plastic barriers in the central reservation and two of them had found their way into the carriageway.

With all the braking and swerving to avoid these thought it would be a good idea to call the police, when I said there are barriers blocking half the right lane, he said is that the "fast lane"?

Not much else to report for now Smile

Hate it when the third lane is referred to as the "fast lane" since when was the limit any higher then in any other other lanes??

Yeah it did make me laugh when he said it - but I assume back in the days when people drove properly it was the "fast" lane as the fastest moving traffic was in that lane (not necessarily breaking the speed limit).

Now though the "slow" lane is the new "fast" lane

Finally the real update you've all been waiting for - I knew the recent good behaviour wouldn't last! Interestingly this wasn't on the A406 though

Was waiting to turn into a side street this morning, but couldn't turn in as there was already a few cars in there waiting because a guy a few cars ahead was reversing out of a drive. There were also a few cars waiting to turn out of this road on to the main road I was on.

So while I was waiting I was watching this guy reversing, he seemed to be having difficulty but still he kept reversing, a bit more, a bit more still, and then bang! Straight into a car that was on the other side of the road! Funniest part was the guy didn't even realise, continued with his manouvre and was almost about to go on his way when all the other cars around (and the driver he hit) made him realise his error :Fish:

Funnier still was that when I got a closer look at the back of his car (a BMW X3) it had parking sensors!

I am still shocked that so many cars are still driving around with no lights on on the way home from work.. I know it's usual for the first few days as the evenings draw in ... but it's been ages now and every single night I am finding at least two cars with no lights on.. and don't let me start on about the very heavy fog we had yesterday! Too late lol.. I actually counted on my way to the next town yesterday morning because it was annoying me. If I had kept the normal braking distance between me and the car and in front, the fog was so thick that even with fogs lights on I only just see the car in front and can you believe only one in twelve cars actually had lights on at all and most of them were just side lights. This went to the opposite extreme late in the day on the way home when in areas where the fog had cleared, every single car had discovered how to turn fog lights on and no matter how far back you were it felt like you were being blinded by lasers ! When I passed my test the rules were you had fog lights on in fog, when there was no vehicle behind you. Once you were no longer the last car you were supposed to turn them off so as not to blind or mesmerize the car behind ... Is this not still the case ? It's annoying and distracting on normal cars but with so many chelsea tractors on the road, with their foglights at eye level, it's just painful. Can I have a catapult for xmas pls Smile

Yay outside contributions! The blog is growing now

Absolutely I was amazed yesterday at how many people were driving without lights on, where I was it wasn't really necessary to have fog lights on but having lights on made it so much easier to spot a car coming towards you out of the fog.

I haven't come across anyone not having their lights on when it gets dark though, that definitely is something to shout about! That's incredible, do these people think that you put your lights on according to what time of day it is, and not due to the level of daylight there is outside? Can these people see in the dark?
