shall we start calling you Trigger or even Marlene now :whistling:
But sorry to hear you have wounded your car Stav:Sulk:
Aww Stav, it was sad I too am glad you got it back home ok and hope the repairs are quick and not too costly. It was getting some great compliments as we came back past it when it was parked round the back of the track
Maybe it was telling you it wanted thermals too lol
LOL maybe it was Sam.,
Anyway the new news as my other thread shows is that the box may have actually survived!
The diff has gone pete tong which is a bit annoying as the TDi 2JZ car still has the standard diff apparently and is fine.
even more annoying i had a spare diff casing and the bit i need but scrapped them 3 weeks ago!!!
Weird, I'm sure I couldn't see anything spinning when I was under the car! Although the only bit I could see was (what I thought was) the rubber mount between the propshaft and the diff.
Does your car run the SE open diff or the sport LSD?
Edit: Having thought about it, I guess you must be running an open diff because otherwise you'd still have had drive on 1 wheel (unless the sport LSD is a viscous coupled one which I don't think it is). Either way, I was gonna suggest that having shredded a driveshaft is the perfect opportunity to upgrade but the shafts are the same part regardless of whether you've got the sport LSD or not!
I know i thought the same mate but i didnt notice but according to the garage the speedo was going up.
Its the connection to the driveshaft thats sheared inside the diff! but im running the sports LSD, its a torsen one but im not fully up on how they work
Quote:What happens when I have a wheel in the air?
As mentioned above, the Torsen differential is a torque multiplier. The Torsen requires some type of resistance or friction in the system to function properly. A wheel in the air provides zero torque or friction on the system and as the Torsen multiplies the available torque, zero, by its TBR, the end result is still zero. In response to this, we developed the Torsen T-2R with pre-load to combat those wheel in the air situations.
Looking on the torsen website it says this which will be equivelent to the drive on one side breaking:
