Chri5 The actual point of this thread was basically asking about the 'edit' button
So when you make a mistake you can edit your thread hopefully before anybody see's it.
I am aware that being an unpaid member then there are less benefits but all I was attempting to get at is why if I make a mistake then why can't I correct my post by using the edit facility.

Not sure why ppl don't get the thread when last year everybody was asking why there was no edit button.

Must admit the lack of an edit button bugged me as well, but I found I was just making sure I hit the preview post button more, and when I did make a mistake, I PMd a mod and asked them to correct it for me... Bit of a pain to do for both me and them but there you go, that's the only way if you don't have the edit button yourself...

And Oli, the forum comes with a ton of features as standard, but as Gord says, the implementation of the features is at the discretion of the site owner. For example, this site hasn't enabled the negative rep option, just the positive one.

IS200 Sport - Sold
Mazda 6 MPS - Zoom Zoom!

Modifications

Currently 280bhp/295lbft; 3" Meercat custom exhaust; KW Suspension; FMIC; SSP; HPFP; Custom Stainless Steel Dials - for the moment, the only set in the world!! (Till the group buy for MPSOC anyway  )

In Progress:

E-Tuning remap ongoing via Cobb Accessport; Braided brake lines; Stubby aerial; Tinted repeaters and sidelights; 3 Port Boost Control Solenoid; 3" HTP Intake

oooh there is a negative rep button i think that should be activated, then any wrong advice given people can be made aware of

although that would then make it more like a school playground pmsl

I agree with your last bit Rab,

it will become a tool used for the wrong reasons

But if I'm having to ask admin to correct my posts then surely that's taking up more of there 'free' time???
Also if I'm posting underneath as we was last year (maybe you forget to add advice etc) then (a) the thread looks **** cos of all the added posts and (2) doesn't this take up extra space???

Yep, it is...but part of their role on the forum is to assist members, so no reason they wouldn't help out. Stav and Bandit both edited a bunch of my posts on my request for me...

(a) and then (2)? Smile Bet you'd like to edit that...

(a) Again you can ask a mod to add the extra info to the original post or to tidy up the thread so it looks a bit neater

(2) If by extra space you mean on the forum servers, then I wouldn't worry about it, the text content of the entire forum including all posts won't actually take up that much space on a hard disk, and pretty much all photos are essentially links that are only expanded to pictures in posts by the forum code. The ads again are only served by the code on the forum and not stored on the server...

This has gone off what I was asking.
Its nothing to do with how much each club charges, or the benefits of joining clubs etc.
It was basically asking why if your not a paid member then why can't we have the edit facility.

Yes it does, I paid money for an edit button, as well as other features. And I got told I couldn't. I tried to help the club.
My situation is perfectly on topic to the edit button.
