55-200 seems to be a really good range.

I started of using my 18-70 at the Ace Cafe meet last year, but quickly swapped to the 55-200 so I could get some more arty pictures by blurring the background with the smaller aperture value that the 55-200 has.

You really need a 50mm prime lens or something like that. Alternatively the lens I have bought, as it's a true 1:1 macro lens, gives oodles of bokeh!

Indeed I do, I'll take one of those, and a deeper wallet if you have either laying around?

I'm planning on getting an 18-135 lens with my Canon when I get around to buying it. And then at a later date, a good fixed 50mm. And then maybe a 70-300 for my sports photography.

Aye a 300mm lens is next on my list if I can find one I like.

Either that or a true wideangle.

Or both knowing me... Big Grin

Ideally I'd like to replace my 18-105 with an 18-200 but they're so ridiculously expensive Confusedad:

Have been toying with the idea of getting a 55-300 - do you find yourself needing to swap lenses all the time or can it be used quite a bit at 55mm?

Update to mine

E55EX_RACER What I have

Nikon D5000
18-55mm (kit) Lens
55-200mm Lens
35mm (f1.8) Lens
Lowepro 200 bag
Tripod
Bean Pod
Raynox 250
Black Rapid RS-4

What I want

70-300mm Lens
ND Filter
Flash of some kind

I was looking at the 55-300 but have now decided against it and want the 70-300. The image quality is better on the later from what I have seen and the mount is also metal rather than plastic like the 55-300. You have upto 105 covered so I would go for the 70-300 Smile
