I'm in too deep - HELP!!!!
I'm not sure thats my only problem now though
I did the nail trick like stav mentioned. CHecked that its making a good conection with a multimeter, but I'm still having problems.
- Car starts fine
- No lights on dash
- No moving gauges
- Cannot shift car out of park.
You must be able to shift out of park whilst pressing that little button at the front of the trans?

Stoney I'm not that great with electricals, but if several different things have lost power whilst you've been tinkering in the engine bay, is it not possible that you have broken an earth connection somewhere?

Just spoke to Jim,
I have suggested he looks in the drivers foot well at the MPX fuse and a few others as if the gauges are not working its likely to be this fuse it can be very fussy with power shorts etc...
Right, I checked a fuse labelled MPX2 which was in the passenger footwell. Couldn't find anything similar in drivers footwell, but MPX2 seemed to be OK
Here's a bit of an update though...
- Car starts fine, and battery reads ~13v from my multimeter. Bearing in mind I've started the car about 6 times now, would it be safe to say the alternator is OK?
- Doors will lock sometimes, but not others. Weird???
- I can now press the shift lock button and move the car. Whoop!!
- But still no dials inside the car working.
Even weirder is that my new wideband seems to have stopped working. Which is weird as its powered from the main IGN wire under the dash.
