parthiban Great write up, sounds like a brilliant trip. And 9:40 is an unbelievable lap, the M5 lap record is 8:13 and the Evo 9 is 8:11 so that's seriously impressive, especially as you guys weren't really pushing it :thumbup1:

Really? Confusedhock:

I had no idea those were the lap records in those cars! I am amazed! Seems I am not as bad a driver as I think I am then! Wink

Yep I'm impressed, ignoring the obvious risk it would be interesting to see how quick you guys could be if you were really trying, I wouldn't be surprised if you could get it down to 9 minutes which would be amazing.

Do they charge you if you crash? I assumed they would have insurance and that the entry fee would cover everything Confusedhock:

Marsdendean ^^ Most people don't insure there cars for the ring, as its a fair few £££. You have to insure your car if you don't want to pay the stupid prices if you do come off!

The lifelong argument, technically its just a road in Europe and should be covered. However most insurance companies will exclude it by name.

If you crash they charge you for the barriers, the posts that hold the barriers, the grass, any other bits you damage, for calling out the truck to recover you, they will also charge you a large fee if they have to close the track (lost revenue etc)

You can buy some track insurance, i seem to remember one being £1000 for the day and that had a hefty excess as well.
German insurance companies however i believe do cover people on the ring.

(and mine doesnt name it so i could put up an argument, though it'd prob be long running and difficult)
Oh and you have to pay before they let you leave

Sure, I didn't mean in terms of whether you or your insurance pay for it, but I just thought seeing as you pay a fee to use the track that that should cover what happens on it.
