Rust !
Rust !
does no-one have one?
What car is the car Steveweive?
It's a 1999 car so in an ideal world I would get hold of the 1999 anti-corrosion warranty wording. But anything would be better than what I've got now, which is just a paragraph in the service/warranty booklet (I'm assuming someone might have more than that ?).
**** it, i had it with my is200, but then sold the manuals and wallet !
I do have the small paragraph in the warranty booklet, which says how things like mouldings aren't included (which is fair enough - the rust is next to a moulding, but it's not the moulding I'm claiming for), but no further detail.
ok, well I got some info back from the dealer's after-sales manager. Basically they are saying that the anti-perforation warranty only covers rust that starts on the inside of a panel and works its way to the outside, i.e. making a hole through the panel starting on the inside.
They are saying that my rust problem is effectively surface rust, and this only has a 3-year warranty.
The trouble is, I guess what's happened is that the rust has come from the edge of a panel rather than purely from the inside, i.e. it's come from the edge where it meets the moulding that seals the windscreen.
Hmm ...
thats a ****** cop out if i ever saw one, rust is rusthock:
yh vauxhall has the same t&c, when i bought my vectra read the paperwork and it only covers when it comes from inside, but how can you tell?
I suppose I could get into "how can you prove the rust *isn't* coming from the inside ?" ?
you might aswell do mate, there being a pain in the back side no harm to be do it back, i would and if you win then you got it sorted !
