10-09-2017, 02:43 AM #32Glad it's going to be sorted. But please be aware that you're supposed to tell your insurers about this anyway, even though you're not claiming. And if you don't tell them, then they find out about it through checking various databases and so forth ...

i'm gunna source a second hand door (£100 off ebay), then source a sill mould and fittings (£200)
i can prep it all myself as i sued tow ork in a bodyshop
then all i have to pay for is spraying of door/sill mould, small repair to sill and spraying and then all refitting
so i reckon i can get it all done for under £700

That would be a decent result - although will a non-lexus approved repair cause you any problems when it comes round to returning the car?

Cool not a bad result then, you need to inform your insurance though technically even if they're not paying for it - shame you were so close to swapping cars but clearly a higher power thinks you should be driving the Lexus rather than an Astra
