Marsdendean I am a fan of Auto's. I never really thought something powerful like a TT Supra would be good with the auto boxs, been looking at R33 GTS skylines with autos and most people say stay clear!!
All depends on the individual box though, AMG mercs have always put ridiculous power through auto boxes so it's not the auto that's the problem.

Marsdendean yeah but there newer tiptronic ones with 100's of clutch's (alright, maybe 2!), i was on about "the old school ones" like the IS200 and prob like the ones the supras use etc
The double clutch one is really new, shortly before that they used the 7 speed auto box. And even that is quite recent, up until about 2 or 3 years ago I think AMG cars have always used the 5 speed auto box that's been in Mercs for years.
I'm pretty sure even the CL65 with its 612bhp and 738lb ft of torque used the same 5 speed auto box.
