Oh so true...

For example, here's the content of an email I sent to one guy who we were working with, plus his boss and mine... He no longer works for us Smile

Me in a bad mood after nearly 3 days of trying to get this guy to tell us what he did Lordy, you’re full of sh*t.

The evidence is clear – this ONLY ever happens when it’s you creating the pack requests. Not for anybody else. Therefore it is SOMETHING you are doing.

Be nice if just once you actually took some responsibility for what you do. It might help any investigation process, you know – where we try to resolve the issue YOU are having for you?

If you expect other people to help you out, it’s a good idea NOT to just throw your hands in the air and expect them to do everything for you. That is likely to p*ss them off. Try getting off your a*se and actually do something for once, eh?

Dave.

Shortly after that he was fired for general incompetence... One of my colleagues asked me after reading the mail how I manage to stay employed when I send mail like that; I pointed out that it's for 2 reasons:

1. I'm very good at what I do.
2. I only go off on one at people if they are being complete idiots.

And as a consultant, I've just had my contract renewed for the 18th time in the past 3 years. So they know that I'm not shy about speaking my mind when asked, and having not been canned for it, they obviously are OK with that...

Like Ormi says - rule 1, be very very good at your job - it lets you get away with all kinds of stuff...

Dave mate your mot isn't due till may around the 5th so I've booked your car in for a service a week tomorrow.
And while the service is getting done I'll sort out your roll bars and brakes... The service and the half hours labour(just too keep the boss sweet) will be no more than £90 that ok?

Sounds good matey - but I'm officially confused as my MOT sticker thingy (can't seem to find the certificate itself) says expiry on 10 Feb...

Either way though £90 is fine buddy, thanks for this - what time should I bring the car down?
