take it to another Lexus dealer and ask for a safety check. They do this for free - also mention the issues you have and see if they can replicate the issues you have.

Lexus Canterbury was initially dealing with my steering problems for 2 months and couldnt find anything wrong with it and then decided to take it to Lexus Sidcup and they agreed there was 'vagueness'feeling with the steering and decided to change the steering rack

parthiban I'm pretty sure you can get the Sport Maxx as a non-runflat - I think the XF my brother just bought is on Sport Maxx tyres but not run-flats.

I think you need the XL tyres on the IS, but not sure if the dunlops are available as both XL and non-XL so have a look at the tyres to be sure.

I am so inclined to get the XF and sell the IS, but then its not in my nature for someone having to go through the same isues I am having

I am confused. When did you first notice this 'feeling like driving in a crosswind'? Has the car always been like this? or did it start after you changed the front tyres?

You say that now it's been to WIM it has cured the tram-lining but that was only yesterday.

What tyre pressures are you running? If the visit to WIM has almost cured it then it might be just a case of tweaking the pressures back and front to get it 100%.

I think someone has been riping you off. Who was it that suggested you need the steering rack changed and why? Lexus has made a lot of money out of you!!

Please don't despair. There is enough people on here with a wealth of knowledge and experience. I'm only just down the road in Dover and Phil01 lives near Brands Hatch, either of us or both could have a look if you want and I'm sure given the full details of what's been done and a thorough inspection of everything we can get something sorted out.

Lexus Sidcup suggested the steering rack after test driving the car but that was done on warranty. After replacing the steering rack it was fine for a week then it felt like I was driving in a crosswind so then I asked Tony to have a look at the geo done by Lexus Sidcup he came back with quite a few errors with the geo ie the Sai and camber readings was wrong. I then decided to go down to WIM to do the Geo but when Tony put it on the ramp the only adjustment that was needed was the toe. That cured the tram line a bit but the drive above 60 still feels like the car is not "planted" on the road surface. Tyre pressures on the front was 35 psi and the rear was 38 psi but I am sure Tony did reduce the pressure down but not sure to what Both Phil and yourself are more than welcome to test drive the car as I have taken some time off work to get this sorted as it's been ongoing now for 4 months it's one or the other. If both of you wish to come please let me know when as I am off till next week wednesday. Thank you

I'm sorry I'm going away today for a few days, returning on Sunday but if you can wait till after the week end I'm sure we could arrange something. If I don't contact on here over the next few days you know why. I will be back on after Sunday.
