jimxms Ah, now that I wasn't expecting. I though the Jag would be quite spacious even in the rear and none of the pictures I saw of the interiors made me think otherwise. How would you say it compares to the IS?Oh it's definitely bigger than the IS - it's just cramped in comparison to rival large saloons. Coming from the LS430 it'll probably feel quite small whereas the 300C may not feel that different at all.
jimxms 300C looks like it might be out of the picture. Mrs can't get insured on the saloon model, only the estate, which IMO looks like a hearse. That's really weird, not sure on the stats but can't imagine the estate is more than half a second slower to 60 max, it's surely just tenths.
I presume this is because the hearse is significantly slower to 60?

I have a couple of mates who have Jags S types I believe 1 is an estate the other a saloon and they don't seem to have any problems at all and have between them all the toys they come with.
They love them

Interesting comment about rust - didn't realise the aluminium bodied XJs were prone to rust. Is it a common problem like with Mercs of the early 2000s or just in isolated cases?

That solves the dilemma I suppose though!

jimxms Yeah shame in a way as I'd have liked to driven both. Not sure if the hooligan in me would have preferred the supercharger or the hemi :p
Stats on autotrader put the estate at 7sec which does seem rather slow!

On the Jag theme. I know you work for them Phil, as a breakdown technician (or similar) and of course you see a lot of them when they are broken! But my dad has had 4 very reliable ones now, a 97 LWB Sovereign, a 99 XJR, an 04 Super V8 and now an 08 XF SV8, there has not been a single fault on any of them, and he did a lot of mileage. As I said before, that would be my choice. Have a test of something like this: EBAY LINK
Not sure about a 300c Hearse, the Dodge Magnum filled that gap in the US, it that a Europe only model I winder???
do not touch the 300c mate, i worked for mercedes and have heard all the stories.
They are old e class mercedes rebody which they could not sell cause when they where the e class they where shocking.
Stay far away the looks at not worth the hassle. Just get a new dodge charger on import.
